A Brazilian animal shelter message to adopt a dog is ‘better than buying a life is saving one‘
An animal shelter in Brazil found the brilliant solution to show rescued dogs in a positive light in a bid to get people to adopt a dog instead of buying one.
This clever video shows that rescue dogs shouldn’t be any less desirable than regular dogs, after they were placed on sale in a pet store.
In the video, created by Brazilian animal charity Associacao Quatro Patinhas, dogs in a regular pet store are replaced with unwanted dogs that have been rescued from the streets.

The experiment was staged to change people’s perceptions of rescue animals and prove that they are as loving as any other dog and in fact, in more need of a home.
And unsurprisingly, the dogs receive a huge amount of attention as customers begin flooding into the store and begin enquiring about purchasing the adorable animals.
The reactions range from shock to confusion, and every person involved questions the shopkeeper and cannot believe it when he tells them that the animal is free.

Christianne Duarte Garoui, the president and founder of Associacao Quatro Patinhas, explained that the video aimed to highlight the plight of rescue dogs in Brazil.
‘Animals die of diseases and maltreatment or due to overcrowding’, he said.
‘Some people abandon animals in shelters thinking they’ll get adopted and receive proper care. But they usually end up dying from many diseases and depression.
‘People still pay a lot of money buying animals in pet shops.
He added: ‘But there are many other pets that would bring them so much love for all their lives and people don’t need to spend a cent for it.’ The video was seen by over 3.5 million viewers.
